Low Cost Conference Calling

Low cost conference calling plans offer web-scheduled and reservationless conferences… what’s the difference?

With Web-Scheduled conferences you are guaranteed a time slot for a certain number of participants on the day and time that you select.  Time slots are reserved in advance via the Internet and are assigned a call in number by the scheduler.  Reservationless conferences allow you to place a call at any time without making reservations in advance.  When you register for the service you will receive a call in number and access code for you to distribute to your participants and this number remains valid after the call so you can use it whenever you wish.

I need Low Cost Conference Calling but I need a lot of people on the line as well.  How many people can be on a conference call?

The exact figures depend on the service you choose and may be as high as one hundred and fifty participants.

Is Low Cost Conference Calling low quality as well?  Does the number of participants affect the quality of the conference?

The Quality of a conference call generally goes down as more callers get on the line.  With more participants the presence of cell phones, speakerphones, cordless phones, headsets and background noise is likely to increase.  All lines active on the call are bridged together, so the quality of the call is only as good as the worst connection.  User error, such as a participant placing the call on hold and playing their on-hold music to the rest of the conference, is also likely to increase with additional participants.
